Washington, DC — Opening Delayed Again
June 2014
According to WTOP Washington's new streetcar system will open by the end of 2014, not by fall as had been projected previously. The District Department of Transportation says the controversy over locating the operations and maintenance facility near Spingarn High School and the harsh winter both contributed to the delay.
The 2.4-mile line, which is planned to be the first part of a 22 to 37 mile network, will cost more than $160 million. |
