Milwaukee — Alderman Campaigns Against Streetcar

WTMJ Radio reports that Alderman Bob Donovan is extending his one-man campaign against the planned streetcar to a call for a referendum to decide the streetar project's fate.

Not all of his colleagues agree. "This is showboating, this is just making wild assertions to the public which have no factual basis," said Alderman Bob Bauman about Alderman Donovan.

Donovan is encouraging supporters to circulate petitions to protest the $65 million project and request a referendum. This is despite the fact that previous efforts to request a referendum have failed.
