Kenosha — Expansion Plan Approved

The City's Transit Commission approved expansion of the streetcar system with a new north-south route. The approval included starting design and engineering. Initial cost estimates are only $10.3 million for the proposed route. It is hoped that Federal grants would cover 80% of the cost with the remaining $20 million paid by local tax payers.

The new line would run through the Sixth Avenue downtown business area and extend south to near the Kenosha Medical Center and north to 48th Street.
