The modern streetcar line in Georgia's largest city now has a mobile app for smartphones allowing riders to use their devices to buy tickets for fare payment, the v103.cbslocal.com site reports. It allows you to buy and use your tickets in seconds from a smart phone; or they can be stored on the phone for later use.

The car line runs from Centennial Olympic Park to the Martin Luther King, Jr. visitor attraction for a total of 2.7 miles through downtown but there are plans for expansion. Siemens S70 streetcars provide the service.

The new app also provides real-time arrival information for car stops.
