Toronto — Faively Wins Streetcar Subcontract

Bombardier Transportation has awarded a subcontract for brake systems, doors and HVAC equipment for Toronto's new fleet of 204 streetcars to Faiveley Transport.
The fleet will have both disc and magnetic track brakes with electronic controls, hydraulic power units and hydraulic calipers. The electrically-powered door systems, four per car
with both single and double sliding plug doors, include a wheelchair ramp for the disabled. Most of the components for all three systems will be manufactured in North America.
