Toronto — Mayor Backs King Pilot Permanence

CTV News Toronto reports that Mayor John Torney will support the staff recommendation to make the King Street Pilot, which greatly reduced auto traffic on King Street downtown, permanent. Streetcar ridership has grown by 16% since the pilot started in November 2017. Streetcars now move through the congested downtown section 4 to 5 minutes faster in the afternoon peak.
