Detroit, Michigan
February 2004: A final step in the dismantling of Detroit's heritage
trolley system was noted on February 3 and 4, 2003 when the trolley storage barn
was demolished.
October 2003: Detroit's heritage trolley system, which was the
first to enter operation in 1976, may now, after many stops and starts, become
the first to give up operation. Economic development never took hold along the
area served by the line and only 3000 passengers per year were being carried by
the trolley. Click here for further details.
