Dallas — Opening Delayed until 2015

The start of operation for the downtown Dallas to Oak Cliff modern streetcar line now is delayed until at least February 2015, the Dallas Morning News reports. The starter line will use two Brookville Equipment Corp. "Liberty" model articulated streetcars, partially low floor.

The route plan now includes a shuttle bus (which will start this year) to connect the starter streetcar terminal at Oak Cliff with the neighborhood's Bishop Arts District.

There was a challenge to award of the streetcar contract to Brookville and that delayed planning for the line, resulting in completion slipping until February 2014 at the earliest.
