Everett, WA — Streetcars Study
Rail Transit Online, July 2006
The Everett city council has hired Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates
to conduct a feasibility study of a streetcar line connecting the city’s
harbor, downtown and riverfront. The route, designed as an urban circulator
to promote redevelopment, would replicate a trolley corridor that was built
in the late 19th century and scrapped in 1923. The $40,000 study will
examine costs, ridership and possible alignments for both streetcars and
enhanced bus service. A report should be completed in October. |
